How can we channel design skills and resources to reverse ecological damage and contribute to regenerative futures? Let’s start by exploring why design is well placed to act in this space, and what barriers it’s facing.

How can we use design to answer the need for more diverse and desirable societal narratives about the future, and intervene in destructive development?

To welcome spring –which felt more like summer– we went foraging as a team. As part of our relational infrastructure, we want to create dynamics in our collective where we learn from each other and our surroundings.

Together with Open Creative House, and a multinational consortia of partners, this project proposal asks what external societal role the music industry can play in accelerating green and social transitions.

An openly experimental space, the retreat’s intention was to break away from our fast paced lives, and carve a space to slow down, reconnect and recentre. Across the three days, we led a full but adaptive schedule of activities intertwining somatic practices, regenerative leadership approaches and transitions design methods.

As we face a grand challenge to transform unsustainable business models, the design discipline is an invaluable and underutilized asset to re-imagine and re-invent new regenerative business models
